“Be the Change You Wish to See in the World”-Mahatma Gandhi. Sponsoring a project in Macedonia as a local employee of Saint Gobain is a unique opportunity and very awarding experience that makes me very proud. One year ago, our first proposed project #315 Energy Efficiency Reconstruction of the Association of Pensioners in Kavadarci was awarded with 41.000€ by the Saint-Gobain Initiatives Fondation and since then we have started feeling the long term benefits that it would make for our local community. Our company was recognised among the “Companies Doing Good” in Macedonia and this donation gave us an incentive to raise the brand awareness of our company at a very high level. Last week we have organised a volunteer day and a youth integration day together with Habitat for Humanity Macedonia,  activities that gave even more added value to our project with the different components. Through the volunteer activities our Saint-Gobain employees could give their personal contribution by providing technical support as well as participating in the construction works of the project. Furthermore, the youth integration day gave us an opportunity to educate 30 students from the Faculty of Architecture that gained a theoretical and practical knowledge of energy efficiency building up their skills and competencies as future young professionals.
